As I was watching episode 20 of King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo, my mom kept mentioning how unrealistic this whole drama is. I thought to myself, “Why are you still watching then, mom?” Of course, I didn’t want to say that to her face. However, I have to admit, as the drama passed the middle point, it started getting too dramatic and unpredictable. I mean that’s what makes it more fun to watch. Sometimes I wonder if these events can actually occur in real life. Watching today’s episode almost ripped my heart because I’ve never seen Tak Goo suffer this much before. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)

After talking to Tak Goo’s mom, Il Joong drove his car in order to meet up with her. Dr. Yoon secretly followed him. A group of gang members hired by Manager Han purposely caused a car accident, and Il Joong got injured. The next day, Manager Han showed up at the scene and found out that Il Joong was missing (The part about Il Joong getting into a car accident was one of my predictions).

Majoon and Yoo Kyung shared a passionate kiss (totally predicted this).

Tak Goo saw that Majoon’s cassette player was crushed, so he bought a new one for him using his own money.

Yoo Kyung went on a shopping spree using Majoon’s credit card.

Turns out Dr. Yoon, who was tailing Il Joong, discovered him and took him to Tak Goo’s mom’s home to get treated. After he gained consciousness, he and Tak Goo’s mom shared a deep, long hug.

Majoon went to his family gathering event and brought Yoo Kyung AND Tak Goo.

Tak Goo was shocked to see Yoo Kyung being with Majoon and cried his heart out (He probably felt betrayed).

Tak Goo passed out and was discovered by people from the bakery. He was running a high fever, so Misoon’s mom took Majoon’s poison herb drink that paralyzes one’s ability to smell things and fed Tak Goo with it because she thought it was a cold medicine. MAJOR OOPS.

I hated watching the last part of this episode when Majoon was running to stop Misoon from feeding Tak Goo the poison herb drink. This type of running scene to stop someone from doing something is one of the typical things that happen in many Korean dramas. I was hoping to see something better than this, but the producers of this drama HAD TO resort to this kind of scene. Why? Come up with another way to make the drama interesting! I was disappointed and mad that Tak Goo had to get hurt physically and emotionally on this episode. Don’t make him suffer too much, PLEASE.

Uhhh these spoilers are sort of fun to read....poor Tak Goo ;____; I can’t resist spoilers, even when I read them I get even more excited to watch it, so they don’t ruin for me. I think I’m gonna tear a lot watching this episode. And if I were to ask my mom that question she wouldn’t be so happy either too. ^^ Great highlights!~~
