After another busy day at work, I came back home completely worn out. However, my parents rushed me to watch episode 21 of King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo with them. I seriously think they are more into the drama than I am. Today’s episode was like no other, filled with dramas and heart-wrenching moments. Here are the highlights: (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)
Tak Goo’s mom told Il Joong what happened the night Majoon’s grandma passed away.
After eating Misoon’s jook (rice soup), Tak Goo realized that he couldn’t smell or taste anything.
Majoon confronted Tak Goo and told him that he made Tak Goo lose his senses, but it happened unintentionally since Misoon was the one who fed Tak Goo the poison. Misoon who happened to be eavesdropping heard their conversation and felt extremely guilty for causing everything.
The teacher found out what Majoon did to Tak Goo, but decided to keep his mouth shut for now.
Il Joong met up with Jin Goo and asked him a favor.
A random man threw a rock and broke the windows of bakery and ran away. There was a message wrapped around the rock, which said, “The one who left must come back” in four Chinese characters.
Misoon motivated Tak Goo to not give up and keep trying even though he lost two of the most important senses. She said she’d be his senses and help him.
The mysterious man came back and taught Majoon how to pass the second task.
The night before the second task, Tak Goo went to visit Yoo Kyung. Tak Goo told her that he is assuming she chose Majoon in order to have a better life. Before they parted, he told Yoo Kyung to live happily ever after. Yoo Kyung, who couldn’t take it anymore, ran to Tak Goo and back-hugged him (GASP).
Tak Goo’s mom was tricked into revealing her existence to Majoon’s mom and Manager Han.
Misoon and Tak Goo passed the second task, and Majoon failed.
Why were all the antagonists mean especially on this episode? I was close to badmouthing them (Well, I do it all the time but still). I can’t believe Tak Goo’s mom was caught in Majoon’s mom and Manager Han’s sneaky trap! I almost got shivers at the beginning of the episode when Majoon thought to himself, “It’s your destiny, Kim Tak Goo.” How can someone wish for someone else’s misfortune? Is he that desperate? It makes me question myself if there are actually people like him in the world. Yoo Kyung back-hug to Tak Goo was such a climatic moment of today’s episode. They are forbidden lovers because of the people around them. I was wishing for their happiness, but Majoon got in their way (sniff sniff). Oh well, it’s just a drama. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s episode!
