Tuc’s Take: 5 reasons why 2NE1’s comeback will set the summer on FIRE

It’s recently been revealed that YG Entertainment girl group 2NE1 is going to be making their comeback next month on September 9th. Known for their fierce charisma, their unique fashion and their atypical version of KPOP, the girls have certainly gained a name for themselves all around the world. Here are five reasons why I think this comeback is going to set the summer on FIRE!

1. Raw talent
There’s no doubt about it: These girls have got it. Leader CL is “the baddest female Seoul city ever had” with a surprisingly strong singing voice. Vocalist Park Bom has already shown us that her voice is good enough to go solo, and bombshell Sandara Park has a knack for melting the hearts of countless boys across the nation. And then there’s Minzy; she’s got the singing and dancing chops to be the next BoA. With this kind of talent, 2NE1 is a force to be reckoned with and is the top reason why their comeback is going to be a big one.

2. Long-awaited comeback
Since debuting late last year, the group has been relatively missing from the 2010 KPOP scene. Fans of the group that were blown away during their debut period found the KPOP scene to be relatively tame without these four fierce females. Well, almost a year later, the anticipation is reaching its climax, and fans simply cannot wait for this comeback to happen.

3. First full-length album
In addition to returning to the KPOP scene, this comeback represents something a lot bigger for the group; it’s the debut of their first ever full-length studio album. To be released on September 9th, To Anyone is set to have twelve tracks, with six of the tracks being completely new. There’s no doubt in my mind that this album is going to be flying off of the shelves.

4. Will.I.Am
2NE1, and YG in general, is known for their highly Westernized music. This album is no exception. It’s been revealed that the group has been working with Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am to produce the album. With such a world-renowned artist under the production wing, expect this album to bring in some sick beats!

5. Dressed to impress
With Lady Gaga’s recent shuttle to fame has come a whole host of artists all around the world feeling more freedom to experiment with edgier and more outlandish types of fashion. Of all the Korean artists that have been experimenting so far, I would say that 2NE1 definitely rocks it best. Fashion is not just about wearing clothes; it’s about becoming the complete package. Taking influences from people such as American designer Jeremy Scott, the group is certainly dressed to impress.
