You’re Beautiful has garnered a lot of attention due to it’s addictive plot and talented and very very good-looking actors, one of them being Jang Geun Suk, known in the drama as “Hwang Tae Kyung,” leader of the idol group A.N.JELL. Since the filming of You’re Beautiful, he has not acted in any drama–but fans no longer need to wait for his return to the screen. It has been announced by a KBS spokesperson, that Jang Geun Suk will be making his comeback with the drama “Mary Stayed Out All Night:”
“Jang GeunSuk has been confirmed for the drama ‘Mary Stayed Out All Night’, which is aiming to premiere in November. We are currently in the process of casting other actors. There have not been any specific decisions made, such as choosing a director. We will prepare for this drama calmly.”
The drama will be adapted from the manhwa “Mary Stayed Out all Night.” The author of this manhwa is also the same person who drew “Full House” which was also adapted into a drama starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo back in 2004.
The drama will be funded by KBS Media AND Japan’s ACC Korea.The scripter writer has been determined to be In Eun Ah, who also scripted “Goong” and “Matchmaker’s Lover.” I have watched Full House AND Goong before, and I can truthfully say that I love both the dramas. The script was amazing; I remember crying uncontrollably throughout most of the drama (it was really touching, I swear)–I highly recommend these two dramas if you haven’t watched them yet. But back to Jang Geun Suk’s upcoming drama–I am very confident that this new drama will gather many viewers, not only because the script writer and manhwa author are both amazing, but also because Jang Geun Suk is a very talented actor.
I have watched Beethoven’s Virus and You’re Beautiful, both starring him as one of the lead actors, and even though both the dramas dealt with music, the character personalities were very different. It was a surprise to see him go from the optimistic and happy trumpet player in Beethoven’s Virus, to idol rock band lead singer. Yet, he was very convincing in his roles for both these dramas. I can really say that I am looking forward to this new drama of his.
