King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo Ep. 23: Highlights and Thoughts

School finally started this week for me, and my professors managed to make my life miserable by giving me a ton of assignments already. I was afraid that I would not have time to watch my current favorite show King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo. However, I ended up having a bit of free time for episode 23. Watching this episode made my life less stressful since I was able to give all my energy into watching and analyzing it. Here are the highlights of this episode: (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)

Showdown began.

Manager Han bribed all the judges so that Majoon can win the match. However, Tak Goo’s bread was too good that he won, and Master was able to keep his title.

Majoon suggested Il Joong that he should mass-produce the Bong bread now that Majoon knows the recipe. Il Joong was not impressed at all and rejected the idea.

All of a sudden, a man along with a group of customers complained that iron powder was included in the bread and demanded money for emotional damage.

Tak Goo caught the man doing some suspicious activity with someone from GeoSung.

Majoon’s mom and Tak Goo’s mom encountered each other at a department store. Tak Goo’s mom returned Il Joong’s necktie to Majoon’s mom and told her Il Joong spent a couple of days with her (RAWR).

Majoon’s mom tried to have an arranged marriage set up for Majoon, but Majoon kept insisting he only wants Yoo Kyung.

The bakery was forced to shut down, and rumors started spreading. No one wanted to help. It was revealed that this was all Manager Han’s plot to bring down the bakery.

Il Joong and Yoo Kyung met up, and he told her to take care of Majoon for him. He also offered to give her job back.

Tak Goo saw Yoo Kyung and Majoon together. Tak and Majoon started arguing and ended up in a fight. Il Joong showed up and stopped the fight. Tak Goo told Il Joong that someone from his company was behind the plot to shut down Master’s bakery.

Tak Goo apologized to Misoon because he got into a fight.

Il Joong quickly realized that Manager Han was behind the whole mess and fired him.

Master and Tak Goo baked together for the last time, and Master passed away quietly and peacefully.

Why is Manager Han so evil? Can anyone be as evil as him? I really wanted to punch him in the face when I was watching today’s episode. There was no need to mess with the bakery. It was Il Joong’s teacher’s bakery, so he should have known that it was not to be messed with. I am so glad he got fired, but you never know what’s going to happen on the next episode. Manager Han might explode and do something more evil to bring down Il Joong as a way to get back at him. I really hope Tak Goo’s mom does something to Majoon’s mom on the next episode. I am pretty sure there’s going to be a catfight in the future. RAWR.
