I’m sure you’ve been told enough times about how explosive SNSD’s popularity is in Japan after their recent debut (you cannot deny it- they had to perform three showcases instead of the planned one!). Well, it looks like there are many SONEs in Taiwan too.
Tickets for the Korean girl group’s October 16th concert in Taiwan started on August 28th but online sales were so high that the homepage server collapsed. As this continued, only offline sales were able to be made. “Fans of the Korean idol group SNSD flooded in because they wanted to go see their concert and this caused our homepage server to go down. We couldn’t expect that so many people would flood in. We quickly dealt with the offline sales and all of our prepared tickets became sold out after one and a half hours,” Taiwanese newspaper TVBS noted.
Fans had to buy the tickets, which sold out after one and a half hours, in person. SNSD’s 1st Asia Tour has proved to be making a massive wave in the continent, but hopefully, one day the famous Korean girl band will branch out into other non-Asian countries.
