Following the leaked news of China’s Gossip Girl’s funding proposal, Super Junior boys Choi Siwon and Han Geng are close to landing roles in the Chinese version of the popular American TV series.

Choi Siwon and Taiwanese actor Li Wei are battling it out to play Chuck. Netizens are putting their votes on Choi Siwon because he suits best with the qualities of American Chuck. Also, due to his impressive acting in Oh! My Lady, he has already shown what he is capable of. Choi Siwon is also well-known and this can only be a good thing when it comes to attracting viewers for the show.

Han Geng is also looking as the favorite against Chinese actor Zhang Han (who played the leading role in the Chinese version of Boys Over Flowers) to play Nate.

Due to the sheer popularity of Super Junior, these two men are already famous and fans will tune in to view the show simply if they know that Siwon and Han Geng are acting in it. It is said that in Super Junior the two men have the greatest relationship and Siwon was aided by Han Geng into the Chinese entertainment industry. With Han Geng, Siwon had a gateway into Chinese film and drama performances.

For the role of Gossip Girl’s Dan, “2010 Super Boy” Chen Xiang will be competing with Cheng Jie.

I don’t actually watch Gossip Girl myself, but if the Chinese version came out with Siwon and Han Geng, I would certainly be willing to follow it!
