Episode 26 of King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo seemed more intense and dramatic than episode 25. The weird thing is that I thought it had already reached its climax on the last episode. It turns out I was completely wrong. The meeting with board of directors did not end up finishing so well, which means my predictions were off by a lot. Here are the highlights: (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)
The meeting commenced, and just whenTak Goo was about to start his presentation, he spilled his stack of papers. Majoon used that as an excuse to start his presentation first. His presentation was short and concise.
Tak Goo went after Majoon. Instead of giving out paperwork’s for them to read, he brought some bread that he personally made for everyone to taste. His bread gave some good appeal.
The meeting ended, but they couldn’t completely decide on everything. Temporary decisions were made: Majoon gets a position at the Geo Sung headquarter, while Tak Goo has to go down to a factory in Chung San (his hometown) and prevent the factory from closing by coming up with a brand new product in one month. Afterwards, the meeting will be held again, and the board of directors will have to recognize Tak Goo as a representative then.
Tak Goo’s mom and Tak Goo passed by each other, but Tak Goo didn’t see her. Tak Goo’s mom was happy to see her son all grown up. Suddenly, her vision got blurry, and she passed out.
Sending Tak Goo to the Chung San factory was Il Joong’s plan (he is still “unconscious”).
Majoon forced his mom to allow the marriage between him and Yoo Kyung happen. He threatened her by saying that he knew what happened the night grandma died.
Majoon’s mom asked Yoo Kyung to come over to her house and made her kneel down on the floor. She explained a couple of things to Yoo Kyung: The feeling of humiliation that she felt when she knelt down will be the feeling that she’ll always feel when she marries Majoon and starts becoming part of the Geo Sung family. Majoon’s mom also said that she wouldn’t let them get a marriage license unless Yoo Kyung bore a son.
Tak Goo went back to his hometown (Chung San) to take a look at the factory. The security person that worked there was Yoo Kyung’ dad.
Yoo Kyung asked Majoon what the bracelet stood for, but Majoon refused to tell her.
Tak Goo analyzed the factory, and the condition was worse than he thought: half of the employees left, rumors about closing down the factory were already spread everywhere.
Yoo Kyung’s still hated his daughter. He told Tak Goo that he still could not forgive her for sending him to jail (tsk tsk).
Manager Han told Jin Goo to take care of someone that holds 3.8% of company stock.
Tak Goo’s mom could go blind unless she gets an eye transplant within two or three months. She felt too ashamed to see Tak Goo’s face.
Majoon’s mom never intended for marriage to happen in the first place. She planned on humiliating Yoo Kyung. She told Manager Han to do a background check on her to find faults and flaws.
Majoon announced to Tak Goo that he and Yoo Kyung were getting married soon. Tak Goo tried to hold back his tears and told Majoon to make Yoo Kyung happy.
Tak Goo visited Pal Bong Bakery and asked the family members to help him out with improving the Chung San factory.
Manager Han found Yoo Kyung’s dad and was going to take him to where Yoo Kyung was. Tak Goo saw him get in the car, and he tried to stop Yoo Kyung’s dad from seeing her, but he failed.
Yoo Kyung went to a wedding dress store to try out wedding dresses. Majoon’s mom and Majoon went with her. Majoon’s mom waited for Yoo Kyung’s dad to show up. Just then, Manager Han and Yoo Kyung’s dad showed up.
Dr. Yoon showed up at Geo Sung and stopped Tak Goo. He asked if he knew Kim Misoon from Chung San (Tak Goo’s mom).
My apologies for having such a long recap. I didn’t expect to have this much actually. It was a great change to see Tak Goo become a businessman, but I still like him being a baker better. I hope Pal Bong Bakery opens again, so that Tak Goo can go back and work there like good ol’ times. Tak Goo’s assignment of improving an old factory seems like Mission Impossible, but this is a drama. I am sure he’ll win in the end. It was sad to see Tak Goo and Tak Goo’s mom ALMOST having a reunion. They were one centimeter apart, but Tak Goo didn’t recognize her as his mom, but good thing Dr. Yoon decided to take the matter into his own hands. I have a feeling Dr. Yoon is going to bring Tak Goo to where his mom is, but she won’t be there since Jin Goo went there to escort her (it was his job assigned by Manager Han). I am not sure what Manager Han is trying to do, but I hope he doesn’t try to kill her. I can’t stand seeing Manager Han and Majoon’s mom win everything. Since the drama is ending soon, I hope the table turns, and Tak Goo takes over the company ASAP!
