As tradition goes, the full version of a song always follows the unveiling of its teaser. Well, we were teased earlier by a short snippet of J Lim and 2AM member Jo Kwon’s The Road to Breakup and sure enough, here comes the full version with its guns out and blazing!
I’m loving the light backing the drums provide the track. The contrast between the verses and the chorus is also extremely well done by having the verses sound more disjointed, dragging out the melody note by note, which the song flows seamlessly from one note to the other during the chorus. J Lim’s vocals are gorgeous (I especially adore that high note during the chorus) and Jo Kwon’s voice is definitely more than up to par in his harmonization. I do wish he got a few solo lines, but I can’t complain, seeing as this is definitely a gem of a song.
This duet is also really cool, considering that J Lim was actually Jo Kwon’s vocal coach before he debuted. He’s really come a long way, hasn’t he?
