King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo Ep. 29: Highlights and Thoughts

After having millions of exams, I was able to take a break from studying (I still have a ton of work left) and concentrate on watching episode 29 of King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo. Only one more episode left after this! It already ended in Korea, so I tried not to read any news articles about King of Baking, so that I don’t find out what happened. Here are the highlights: (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)

Il Joong confronted Manager Han and Majoon’s mom, but Manager Han denied causing grandma’s death. He suddenly exploded and starting venting his feelings that he has been keeping inside for years.

Manager Han felt superior since Il Joong was still ill, so he pushed him and made him fall on his back.

Majoon appeared all of a sudden and helped Il Joong get up. He then revealed that he witnessed grandma’s death, which shocked Il Joong even more.

Ja Kyung provided some of the things she has been researching in order to help Tak Goo come up with new bread products.

The Pal Bong Bakery family members tried helping Tak Goo with making new bread.

Tak Goo came up with something innovative.

The contractors acted as if they didn’t like Tak Goo’s new bread (Manager Han made them do this).

Tak Goo’s mom asked Dr. Yoon to grab more Geo Sung stock in order to help Tak Goo keep his position.

Yoo Kyung threatened Majoon’s mom to step down her position as the head woman of Geo Sung Company.

Majoon dissed Manager Han by telling him that he is an impostor to him since Manager Han betrayed Il Joong.

Tak Goo went to the club that Majoon was in and questioned him why he has been acting strange lately. He told Majoon to fix his bad habits and do his work. They both had emotional breakdowns.

Yoo Kyung tried to take over the entire household by acting as the head of the family.

Majoon ended up falling asleep at the bakery with Tak Goo. He learned valuable lessons from Tak Goo, so he decided to work hard in order to compete with Tak Goo in coming up with new bread products.

One of the contractors changed his mind and decided to let Tak Goo release his new product. Right after that happened, everyone started calling Geo Sung to ask for his new product.

Everything was going smoothly, and the Chung San factory began mass-producing Tak Goo’s new rice bread.

The new bread was selling very fast and became popular.

Majoon lied to Manager Han about the progress he was making in coming up with new bread.

Majoon’s mom lost her interest in everything ever since Il Joong confronted her about her wrongdoing. Manager Han got mad at her for stopping what they were doing. Majoon’s mom confessed to Manager Han that she dump leave her husband for him because she still loves her husband a lot. Manager Han got hurt, so he ended the conversation.

Jin Goo intruded Manager Han’s office to open a secret drawer, which had all of important documents, but Manager Han’s underlings caught him. After they took Jin Goo outside, Manager Han discovered that all of his important belongings were gone. Il Joong then called Manager Han to come over to his office. He realized that Il Joong and Jin Goo had been working together.

One of the Geo Sung workers informed Tak Goo that Il Joong regained consciousness, so the worker drove him to where Il Joong was.

Il Joong gave Manager Han two choices: airplane ticket or police.

Manager Han turned the table around by giving Il Joong two choices: Geo Sung Company or Tak Goo.

It turns out the driver wasn’t taking Tak Goo to where Il Joong was.

I was extremely happy to watch Tak Goo create a brand new product that helped the Chung San factory. The confrontation between Tak Goo and Majoon was so touching because Tak Goo acted as Majoon’s brother to help him work again. On the other hand, the confrontation between Il Joong and Manager Han was plain scary. Manager Han is so evil! How can he make Il Joong choose between his company and his son Tak Goo? Tsk tsk! I hope something bad happens to him on the last episode!
