…and the philanthropic Leehom Wang continues on his journey to make the world just a bit better for all of us. In his most recent Facebook post, Leehom posted a poster promoting The Convention on Biological Diversity (left), which recently took place in Nogoya, Japan on October 28th.
This annual summit is a collection of 190 countries discussing the issue of biodiversity of Earth. Now, if you’ll all think back to your Biology classes, biodiversity essentially means all of the unique species of organisms that inhabit the planet. As many of you may well know, there are a handful of species that are currently endangered, and some have even become extinct!
Surprisingly enough, out of the 190 countries on board with the program, the United States is not one of them! Upon posting the picture, Leehom wrote that, “The Convention on Biological Diversity is in Nagoya today. 190 countries are on board … USA hurry up! Today I’m in Anji, China, green mountains, clean water and fresh air abound. Let’s hope it stays this way…”
Sometimes people forget that we share this Earth with countless other lifeforms. For more information on this organization, you can visit their official website here.
