Fahrenheit members Calvin Chen and Jiro Wang attended SNSD’s concert in Taiwan two weeks back. Jiro had posted a photo, talking about the concert on his Sina Weibo. I later saw a photo going around of them and SNSD in a group shot together and remember thinking, “Aw, that’s so great all these artists get to meet each other and support one another.” But some SNSD fans were raged with anger from this meeting.
Making comments such as, “Those artists are so privileged that they can just pose with SNSD in a photo. How repulsive!” and “Those artists have it made, not having to wait in line or invest all their strengths to get up close with SNSD. We ordinary people can only watch from afar!” I really don’t get it. They even said it right there in their comments, “we ordinary people” Fahrenheit is just as famous in Taiwan as SNSD is to Korea (I’m not comparing their success levels, but their support from fans), so why does it matter if they didn’t have to wait in line or not? They really shouldn’t have to.
It isn’t just Fahrenheit who was privileged to meet SNSD, they both were. I think it’s great that other artists, even from different countries come out to show support for others. Besides, Fahrenheit are the cultural ambassadors for South Korean and Japan, how would it look if they didn’t welcome SNSD? Calvin has even mentioned SNSD from time to time on his MTV show called, Japan, Korea, Music Craze.
Is it just me, or do you guys think that getting angry over something like this is just really unnecessary? It’s not like they can do anything about it, and besides that photo is like spreading more Kpop to Taiwan, and vice versa. Supporting others should be encouraged.
What do you guys think about this? Do you feel angered when you see this picture? Please answer honestly. I really want to know.
