After the recent artillery attack on South Korea by North Korea, the members of T-ara decided to donate 20 million won, or about 20,000 dollars, for the defense of the recently attacked Yeonpyeong Island.
Along with their donation, the T-ara members stated, “After hearing the news about the sinking of the Cheonan ship that occurred earlier this year, as well as the recent Yeonpyeong Island skirmish, our hearts ached for the soldiers and innocent civilians who have unjustly lost their lives. It angers us that North Korea seems to see our country as an easy target. When we were younger, our parents have told us that they gathered gold and donated it to the South Korean government in order to support their country. Our donation may not seem much, but all of us South Koreans believe that we need to strengthen our country’s national power. We donated because we think that our small contribution will serve as some help.”
Core Contents Media, T-ara’s agency, also stated , “T-ara was planning to send their donation on the 26th, but they found out that there was no such organization available at this time to accept the donation. They will donate the amount when they’ve found an organization.”
Seeing that the member’s feeling so strongly about this issue and not just ignoring it is just really amazing to see.
What do you guys think about T-ara donating so much money for this cause?
