The ”2010 Melon Music Awards“ was held on December 15th but has now been overwhelmed with criticism over inefficient data organization and management. Prior to the event, the homepage of the Melon Music Awards accidentally revealed the winners before the ceremony took place.
The page was immediately taken down by “MMA” representatives and was later deleted. Unfortunately, netizens that were visiting the homepage beforehand had made screen shots of the winner’s list. To which, they uploaded the list on various community sites where it spread like wild fire! Representatives of ‘MMA’ has now apologized and admitted their mistakes to Star News on December 16th.
Subsequently, another issue rose amongst the harsh comments towards ‘MMA’ organizers. The ’2010 Netizen Popularity Battle Award’ was meant to be decided 100% by poll points, which included online votes plus ARS texting voting via the ‘MBC Plus’ channel that were received before the event. Conversely, other channels – such as ‘MBC Every1‘ - began asking viewers to send in their ARS texts while the “MMA” was actually running.
Infuriated fans, were extremely disappointed since the artist that was promised his or her win earlier could have been stripped from their award by the extra ARS text votes taken on the day. The representatives of “MMA” stated, “We’ll find out details about what happened,” with regards to the “2010 Netizen Popularity Battle Award” mess.
