Jea of the Brown Eyed Girls is currently climbing high on music charts with her solo debut song, “Because You Sting.” After giving it a listen, though, some are saying there’s a curse word tangled in some of the Korean phrases. And here we go!
G.O. of boy band MBLAQ has a line in Jea’s newly released single where he sings the phrase ‘please don’t be hurt’, but several listeners are saying the word ‘please’ sounds like a Korean swear word.
In Korean, the word ‘please’ is pronounced ‘cheh-bahl,’ but to some, it sounds like the curse word ’shi-bahl’, and for that people are accusing Jea’s company of using noise marketing for the single.
In response, Jea’s company said: “We listened to it again, and we realized that it may seem like that. It was definitely not meant on purpose. We’re very proud of this song. We do not feel that this song needs any noise marketing.”
With or without the nonsense, the song is doing well on music charts, so congrats to Jea.
