In a recent interview IU recently had with TVREPORT, she revealed she had failed 20 auditions before finally passing one.
With her recent skyrocketing success with her newest mini-album, “Good Day,” it seems impossible to believe this highly talented singer had failed so many auditions, but believe it.
IU revealed, “Not just at JYP, I was dropped from over 20 auditions at other companies as well…Since I had failed so many auditions, I no longer expected to pass any of them, and so I was never particularly hurt by the results. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who did not let me pass the auditions. If I had gotten in too easily, I wouldn’t have worked as hard. Thanks to them, I’ve gained more strength and I’ve learned what it means to never give up.”
After hearing the news many netizens have begun to state that those companies who turned her down must be feeling regretful now for failing her. I personally believe that a persons failures only make them stronger, so with that said, I wouldn’t want to hold grudges but instead thank those people who have made me stronger. Seeing how IU was able to look at her experiences so positively just makes me respect her so much more.
