During Sunday evening, actors for drama Athena: Goddess of War (which is currently airing in Korea), Jeong Woo-Seong and Jeong Chan-Woo were injured whilst filming. Jeong Chan-Woo injured his head whilst the car he was driving skidded and Jeong Woo-Seong became injured after trying to avoid the car and ended up with a knee injury.
The scene involved Jeong Woo-Seong trying to murder Jeong Chan-Woo’s character but ended with the pair in hospital for emergency treatment. Although Jeong Woo-Seong’s knee injury is not serious, he has been advised to lay off walking and running for some time, which means he cannot do anymore action scences. This is worry for the producers as he is the main character. Jeong Woo-Seong has already spent three months on crutched after injuring his knee for the same drama in Italy. Jeong Chan-Woo had to have stitches and there has been no damage to his brain. The actor is currently resting.
Sean Richard, who plays Andy, had also been injured earlier that day during a traffic accident whilst he was travelling to the set in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Producers confirmed that Richard was able to film later on despite suffering minor injuries.
Although’s filming for Monday’s episode is now completed, Tuesday’s 14th episode has not yet been so. 20 episodes are expected, but the next episode may have to be cancelled. An offical for Taewon Entertainment commented, “We will discuss with the broadcasting station whether to cancel it or not”.
