Only two more episodes before the finale of Gloomy Salad Days! And wow, what a shocking episode this turned out to be. Finally putting Du He’s cards on the table, we now learn the majority of her story. (Warning: Spoiler Alert!)
It’s true, Gao Chao entered his lesser manga into the competition because he believed Du He deserved it more. And she wins! All ten million dollars and a trip to Japan, but…she doesn’t want to go to Japan? Why? She doesn’t want to leave her brother.
Xiao Du is out of the hospital and with Gao Chao’s father trying to help him out in any way possible, he offers him a job at his business, as long as he quits his delivering job, drugs and all.
Gao Chao’s father is still willing to let his son go to Japan, even though he didn’t win the competition. Gao Chao wants to travel to Japan with Du He, but he can’t convince her to leave her brother.
Xiao Du wants his sister to study in Japan, so to raise more money he goes back to his job of selling drugs. Big mistake. But in order to achieve the amount he needs, he has to agree to sell for them for three years! Jia Jia is worried about him so she tells Du He about what he is doing for her. Also trying to break Du He down and weasel her out of the picture she tells her to give up her dream, and she even burns her death girl manga!
Du He runs away in tears, but runs into Gao Chao who had come to apologize to her for fighting about her decision to not go to Japan. What started off as an apology ended up in a proposal! What? That was awfully fast, but hey, a guy that charming, I’d say yes too. Hah. They agree to marry after graduation and before traveling to Japan. But hearing this news, her brother is not happy. Jealous, in fact.
So much going on, Xiao Du hasn’t taken the time to go to the pub in a while. So they have now come to find him, not good. They beat him up and injected him with a drug. He is knocked out for some time, and next thing you know it is already to Du He and Gao Chao’s wedding! And they both look gorgeous.
Everyone is celebrating except Xiao Du. When Du He goes to talk with her brother she is broken down into tears, and tells him she doesn’t want to leave him, or even get married. A little too late to cancel the wedding that JUST happened. She only did it so she wouldn’t burden her brother anymore. Jia Jia strikes again by telling her to leave her brother behind. But she only just met them. What right does she have to act like this? Ugh.
The poor girl. But if Gao Chao finds out how conflicted she is, he won’t be too thrilled. I’m so anxious and nervous for the next episode!
What do you guys think of Du He and Gao Chao’s relationship?
