Gotta love it when radio programs give you advanced previews of songs. GP Basic recently guested on one and during their time there, the girls revealed a short snippet of their upcoming song, “Take You Away From Me.” The song seems like a new, electronicized take on Bryan Adams’ original song (co-written by Jim Vallance), “Heaven.” Check out the radio rip!

I adored the la’s that immediately followed the end of the “Heaven” chorus–they managed to sound heavenly amidst all the special effects. What I didn’t like the super-poppy na’s that followed that, though they were cute, I suppose. All in all, I’m interested in hearing how the full song goes–it’s a new approach to portraying the original power ballad.
