Airport fashion is one of my favorites to look at. So it was only a matter of time that it would become today’s Idol Look of the Day, featuring 4minute’s Gayoon and her casually chic varsity jacket, thrown over a graphic, slouchy tee, shorts, and some comfy gray high tops. The picture is from a couple days ago when they were at Incheon Airport, traveling to Thailand for MBC’s 50th Korean Music Wave Concert.
Confession: I have a growing love for varsity/baseball/letterman jackets, whatever you want to call them, I find them just so fun to wear and playful. It brings a nice, sporty feel to your outfit or style without having to do really anything but throw it on.
But I do like how her outfit is put together, that it’s comfortable enough for the long plane ride ahead of her (though shorts are a bit cold for a plane but it would’ve been hot per their arrival in Bangkok, so it works). Of course the rockstar aviators just wraps it up nicely, for a bit of mystique and a I don’t care (eh eh eh)-ness.
Get the Look:
Most of the outfit are basic items you might already have in your closet as a staple piece, like a graphic tee (+1) (or tank would work too, maybe venturing out into a flowy cut that sits a bit more forgivingly for any shape) and denim shorts. The high tops don’t really matter too much, just sport your favorite flat footwear that would be easy to walk around in, sneaker-style to tie in that sporty-esque mood. Black aviators are available anywhere, easy to find. Just make sure they can’t see your eyes.
The hardest item to find has to be the centerpiece for this outfit - the darling Varsity Jacket. From what I can check out in local, mall-like stores, it may be a never-ending search to look in person. So online might be your best bet. Just make sure you check out the measurements carefully and that it’s made of a material that you like.
Cotton would be the best, since it’s pretty light and works very well for the Spring/Summer. Unless you’re in a more chilly area or would want to indulge in your inner baseball/softball vixen in the fall months, then there are heavier options that are leather-esque.
Ones that I found with a quick Google search at pretty reasonable prices too (under $60-ish)
