Super Junior M arrived safely in Taipei, Taiwan last Thursday. They will be staying there for two months to promote their newest mini-album, “Perfection.”
In case you forgot which Super Junior members are in this sub-group, here are their names: Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Henry, Zhou Mi, Eunhyuk and Sungmin.
These idols will be residing in a rented apartment (hope there will not be any issues with Sasaeng fans) and will take Mandarin lessons from a local teacher everyday to improve their Chinese skills. Out of all the Korean SuJu M members, Siwon and Donghae seem to be the the most knowledgeable of the language. Siwon has been learning Mandarin for three years as of now, and he can converse fluently. Donghae says he feels that he is really good at the pronunciation, as well as pick-up lines.
However, “Evil Kyu” objected to Donghae’s claim. “His prounciation is really terrible!” Do you think Kyuhyun was just joking, or did he really mean what he said? I hope he was kidding.
New member Eunhyuk is still trying to get used to the Chinese cuisine. He bought a big bundle of kimchi from the market, missing the Korean delights of food. Sungmin, on the other hand, seems to be adjusting very well to the new surroundings. “I am eating very well, I think I put on weight.” Don’t forget the most important thing is to stay healthy, Sungmin! To add to his comment, Henry said, “My mum is in Taipei, so she cooked salt baked chicken for us.” Don’t worry, ELFs, Super Junior M is being well fed!
The boys really want to tour Taipei, but, of course there’s a huge downside if you are a popular star. No privacy whatsoever. To affirm this fact, Donghae said, “I wish we could tour Taipei normally and we hope that fans don’t stick to us so closely and give us some private space.”
Aside from SuJu M promotions, Siwon and Donghae will stay in Taiwan for an additional two months to film Taiwanese drama “Extravagant Challenge.” Actresses Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai will be acting with them, though they haven’t met each other yet. Zhoumi is worried Donghae might be on the short-side, advising him, “Don’t stand next to her!”
Siwon, already having looked at photos of the two girls, said in Mandarin, “I think they are really pretty and it’s an honor to be filming the drama with them.” Of course, Siwon always knows what to say to flatter anyone.
No drama is complete without at least one kissing scene, right? Siwon doesn’t really have an opinion about it right now. “I understand that there are kissing scenes in the comic, but I have not gotten the script yet, so I do not know.” However, Donghae stressed that it is very important to have kiss scenes! “It’s not that I want it, but the viewers. Everyone loves romance.”
Eunhyuk decided to put Donghae even more on the spot by adding, “Donghae always practices kiss scenes with his manager.”
As you may know, their last album was nominated at the Golden Melody Awards. Zhou Mi hopes “Perfection,” which has already sold 20,000 copies in Taiwan, will also be nominated . He said, “We are focusing our efforts in Taiwan this time and if “Perfection” gets nominated, it will be perfection!”
Let’s wish the boys a fun, safe and successful time in Taiwan!
