Ah, summer. The blissful season that when it gets too hot, you either go to the beach or pool to relax in the nice cool water. But if you’re like me and like to laze around the house, then you should check out these 10 animes for the summer!

o1 Kobato

Kobato features a clumsy yet hardworking girl by the name of Kobato Hanato who is on a mission to heal wounded hearts so that she can go to the place that she wants to go. While the manga isn’t finished, the anime series aired (yes, 2 years ago) and it’s a cute series from CLAMP. While it has funny scenes, do prepare some tissues at your side, though.

o2 Kimi ni Todoke (Seasons 1 and 2)

Ah, Kimi ni Todoke. A highly entertaining series that follows Sawako Kuronuma and her journey to be accepted by her classmates. Known as “Sadako”, she is easily misunderstood, but with the help of fellow classmate, Shota Kazehaya, she slowly begins to make friends.

o3 Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam
Its predecessor Last Exile was wildly popular, so now 8 years later, fans will be treated to a new story and new characters in the same world.

o4 Usagi Drop

Daikichi is a bachelor who is now given the task of raising orphan Rin, who is the illegitimate daughter of his granfather and is technically his aunt. From being incapable at first, the series will depict the two’s growth together.

(There is also to be a live-action film and the anime trailer hasn’t been found yet.)

o5 No. 6
No. 6 is about a boy named Shion who had the highest level of intelligence and granted privilege to live in “Cronos”, the luxurious area of NO. 6. He met a boy named “Nezumi” and because he protected him, he was stripped of his privileges and banned from Cronos to “Lost Town”. He stumbles upon the secret of NO.6, which is…?

o6 Blood-C

Blood-C is part of the Blood series and is the newest collaboration between Production IG and CLAMP. Seems to be about blood and vampires.

o7 Ikoku Meiro no Croisée

A romance drama that takes place in the second half of the 19th century. Yune is a young Japanese girl that decides to join French traveler, Oscar, back to his homeland of France and asks to work at his family’s ironwork shop. The shop-owner, Claude, who is also Oscar’s nephew, is against Yune at first, but the two begin to work together.

o8 Appleseed XIII

The city known as Olympus is the center of the world, run by Bioroids and defended by special military forces. These forces must protect Olympus from terrorists, and one such member of the force, former LAPD SWAT member Deunan Knotts and her multipurpose cyborg partner Brialeos must resist the challenge from the Human Liberation Front and terrorist group the Argonauts, who is supposedly being led by the dead leader Al Ceides.

o9 Sacred Seven

Sunrise’s newest project is about a new school battle action and how “people’s memories change the world”. Looks like 7 different students get together to save the world.

1o Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 1000%

Nanami Haruka has aspirations of becoming a song writer, so she attends an idol training school filled with…bishounen?! It’s a girl’s dream come true, but it comes with a catch: she can’t date any of her beautiful partners!

There are just so many animes out there to watch this summer and just a note: the first two came out already (I watched them this spring), but they’re amazing, which is why I’ve included them in the list. Which ones will you be watching?
