The Daily Rant is a feature where I speak freely without bias (actually, not sure if that is possible in a rant) and honestly about issues in the Asian entertainment world. Today’s Daily Rant is: anti-fans.
Anti-fans are what their name implies - they’re not fans of groups that you love to death. These anti-fans make it their mission to hate anything you like and to make either your life or idols’ lives miserable. Sad, I know, right? Unfortunately, you can’t speak sense to these types of fans - they’re just going to hate and hate and hate, so why bother with them? After all, you see an article of your favorite idols and you squeal in delight, but when you go to comment, you see these anti-fans trolling, getting you all riled up. Ah, then you get those fanwars going and bam! It’s war.
Anti-fans also try to do their best to hurt your beloved idols. Remember that one time where that anti-fan laced DBSK’s Yunho’s drink with super glue and handed it to him? She had proclaimed herself to be the leader of his anti-fans. It’s sad, really, that there are fans out there who have malicious intents and try to hurt others. Does it stem from jealousy? Honestly, those idols don’t deserve to have these anti-fans harping on them. And anti-fans are those critical netizens who make it their job to criticize just about anything they don’t like. I just wish anti-fans weren’t there to begin with! Then true fans like ourselves wouldn’t spend so much energy dealing with these types of people. But then again, anti-fans allow idols to draw their strength and just come back even better. So remember, haters are just gonna hate and they will only inspire idols to prove said anti-fans wrong.
