The moment you all have been waiting for has finally arrived! New drama, City Hunter, starring Lee Minho and Park Min Young began airing Wednesday, May 25. So what happens in the first episode?

The drama starts off with the switching off of two very intense scenes: a woman giving birth and a political event guarded with a bunch of men in suits. The same moment a bomb explodes at the event, the baby comes out. The woman seems to be related to someone at the event because as she is being switched to another room, the news on the television causes a look of devastation on her face. However, her husband and husband’s brother, who were both guards at the event, were not injured and visits her in the hospital for a few minutes before they have to leave again, and the couple do not get a chance to name the baby yet.

Before the husband goes back home, he gets assigned another task: to invade North Korea, who supposedly were the ones who planted the bomb. However, as they secretly attack with 21 people, the higher ups get a notice that there will be no reinforcements sent to help those 21 people because the president didn’t approve of the plan. One of the higher up guys is devastated because the 21 people will be sacrificing their lives for nothing, and they can’t be brought back because they already know about this secretly planned attack that needs to remain a secret forever.

At the scene of the attack, the soldiers are planning to fall back to the submarine that is supposed to pick them up, but when they arrive, the soldiers are shot to death one by one by someone in the submarine. This scene almost made me cry because the soldiers did nothing wrong, but they had to die even though they were supposed to be helping the country. The two brothers were also at this scene. One of them, who was the father of the child and also was injured previously during the secret attack, pushed his brother under water and shielded him with his body so that the shooter would not see him and he could live. After the submarine left, the brother who got shot (the father of the child) dies and his brother, Lee Jin Pyo, lives to go back to South Korea. When Jin Pyo arrives, he goes to his brother’s home and steals the child so that his brother’s wife could restart her life without having to take care of the child on her own.

Lee Jin Pyo then starts a new life with the baby in Thailand, and trains him to be a fighter. The training is very rigorous and tough on the kid, but he grows up to become a very alert and smart fighter with perfect aim. His name is Lee Yun Seong (Lee Minho), and he gets into some trouble when he saves a Korean man from some gangsters who go back to Yun Seong’s house for revenge. They end up killing one of the women whom Yun Seong has considered practically his own mother, so he runs after them but he accidentally steps on a land mine. His “father”, Jin Pyo, saves him from it, but Jin Pyo loses one of his legs in the process. While he is getting treatment for his leg, Jin Pyo tells Yun Seong about his real parents and how his father was betrayed by the motherland, so Yun Seong decides to go to Seoul to get revenge.

I’m really liking the drama so far. Lee Minho is such a great actor, and not to mention, a really hot guy! The first episode was filled with a lot of action and drama already, so I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us.
