It seems like it has taken forever for Channel X to wrap itself up, but now that it has I already miss watching it! Full of espionage, crime, and romance, this is an action-packed intense drama that you do not want to miss. To avoid all spoilers for those of you who have yet to watch it, and to see if this drama sparks your interest, here is Channel X in a nutshell.
Summary:
An Zai Yong (Joe Cheng) is all about reporting the truth, when a shady character, Chen Jia Lin (Ai Wei), buys over Big TV he is out for exposing his true motives. But before he can do anything his fiance Shan Shan (Michelle Chen) is murdered and he is the only suspect! From then on even his friends betray him, his only help comes from his enemy, Channel X paparazzi Xiao Lu (Amber Kuo), who is also out to bring down Chen Jia Lin and his company, IPIC. Together they will report the truth at all costs.
“In order to find the truth, are you willing to sacrifice anything?”
This is the tagline and sets the pace for how this show will go about. Between Big TV and Channel X everyone is looking for the truth about Chen Jia Lin and what he is really planning with Wanbin Village. He is the ultimate villain taking out anyone who would stand in his way in order to complete his plan. With him and help from his brother Chen Jia Liang (Lu Ting Wei), and the naive puppets they control, they make it difficult for An Zai Yong to become everyone’s hero.
The Characters:
Joe Cheng never ceases to amaze me, taking full control of his character An Zai Yong is what made this drama, and I’m not just saying that because he’s the main character. Amber Kuo’s character, Xiao Lu, plays a devious girl, with a very bitter heart, she also holds a sweet, childish side, and very naive. Tracy Zhuo’s character Zhuo Yi An is the typical witch who gets in the way of the main love interest, the one that makes you cringe with her evil glares and want to punch the screen right out, that’s some acting well done right there. Chris Lee’s Kong Yuan Qing, the suave best friend who is just trying to make it out alive of this whole situation, caught in the middle with everything, whether it be work or love, he is just trying to do what he thinks is right. And as I’ve described our ultimate villains for this series, Ai Wei and Lu Ting Wei play the evil brothers, but which one has the worst intentions. The character development is quite surprising as the drama progresses.
This drama receives my rating of 8 out of 10:
Action-packed, intense, full of mystery to keep you guessing throughout the entire drama. This has climbed its way to one of my favorites, it doesn’t really have re-watch ability, just because it wouldn’t be as intense knowing the outcome. But with fantastic acting and a unique storyline, if crime dramas are your thing than this is definitely for you. I totally recommend this.
Now has this convinced any of you to give it a shot? And for those of you who have finished the series, please refrain from spoiling it for others. You can direct your spoiler comments to the final episode recap, here.
