The Ningin Round Table is a feature in which we pose an Asian entertainment news-related question to Ningin writers and they give us their colorful opinions and thoughts on the matter. Yesterday we asked our writers which idols they thought should get together. Today however, we asked, “Which fictional TV idol couple is the perfect couple?” Here’s what they had to say:

Felicia Phan: I find a perfect couple to be two people who love and bring the best out of each other, and the pairing of So Yi Jung and Chu Ga Eul from Boys Before Flowers fits these characteristics nicely. At first, Ga Eul, the innocent girl who strongly believed in soul mates, was smitten by Yi Jung, the charming yet cold womanizer, but her affections were rejected. Refusing to renounce, Ga Eul continued to pursue him and eventually fixed the broken man despite all of the times he’d pushed her away. Her heartfelt actions finally broke his walls down and Yi Jung learned to adapt to affections from his love for Ga Eul. While Ga Eul broke down his walls, Yi Jung also made her a stronger person and brought her joy. In the end, the SoEul couple brought each other happiness and showed that although they are both opposites and imperfect, Yi Jung and Ga Eul are perfect for each other.

Stefanel Lee: I believe one of the best couples when it comes to dramas has to be Taekyung (Jang Geun Suk) and Go Mi Nam (Park Shin Hye) from “You’re Beautiful.” With all the ups and downs they had during the drama, they were still able to show some cute moments together, which never failed to make anyone squeal and melt. One of the most memorable parts was when Taekyung was testing as to whether Go Mi Nam could pass as an A.N.Jell fan. Seeing how Taekyung got quite annoyed when Go Min Nam was rating him quite low, he literally jumped for joy when Go Mi Nam finally gave him a decent high rating. Another was when Taekyung gave her the star necklace and explaining that he was the biggest and most handsome star in the sky — now that literally made me squeal. Last but not the least, who would forget the time when he gave her the piggy rabbit?

Sharmaine Mendoza: I believe that the ‘Milky Couple‘ is one of the best pairings in Korean TV. We have seen how these two were well suited for each other in the drama, ‘Dream High‘. To be honest, they were the reasons why I loved that drama. Yes, they make me feel butterflies in my stomach every time I see them onscreen. Not only that, they are cool to each other offscreen. Wooyoung once admitted that he’s a fan of IU after they worked together in the drama and he said that he listens to her songs every night before going to sleep. Remember that time when Wooyoung called IU on the radio and pretended to be a fan? That’s just undeniably cute! They make me giddy and giggle at the same time no matter what they do. This couple is just too good to be true. If you have watched ‘Dream High’, then you clearly know what I mean.

Mylinh Pham: An important aspect in love is chemistry as it plays an initial role in the foundation of a couple’s relationship and ultimately how the surrounding perceives them. Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won (Jaewon Couple) can be interpreted as one of the influential and impacting fictional couples of this generation. Their portrayal of their characters in Secret Garden, not only initiated love from the surrounding audience but also became the mere inspiration for other couples to replicate certain scenes ie; cappuccino foam kiss and sexy sit up scene, heightening the success. The chemistry that the duo shared also sparked much curiosity from the audience in hope for something further to be provoked between the two. In an interview conducted with Hyun Bin prior to his departure in the military, he confessed to being nervous when encountered with a kiss scene, reinforcing the likelihoods of this couple. Similarly, they both won the title as the ‘Best Couple Award’ at the 2010 SBS Drama Awards, founding the prospect that Korea had perceived them as a “real” couple, thus illustrating their success as a couple. This puts further emphasis on how both actors/actresses were able to appropriately evoke a strong chemical bond, instigating love from the audience and become the mere inspiration for other couples to replicate the “couple from heaven” as they were deemed. Hence, this makes them the perfect in every aspect of love and ideal contender on this list.

Andrea Dee: In IRIS, Lee Byung Hun plays Kim Hyun Jun who was forcedly chosen as a soldier part of the National Security Service (NSS). His love interest is pointed towards Kim Tae Hee, who plays as Choi Seung Hee, an expert profiler and is NSS second-in-command. They have shown a very realistic and romantic love for each other on TV with their candy kisses hugs and even more kisses on screen! Making them win the 2009 KBS drama Awards for Best Couple for IRIS it is certainly inevitable that these two on-screen couples are perfect for each other in real life! Byung-hun also won the Style Icon of the Year during the 2010 Style Icon Award. Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee has been hailed as one of the beauties and being one of the top models in Korean. Both actors have proved (with those I mentioned above) that they are both perfect for each having perceived both style and beauty! (Style + Beauty = Perfect!) Moreover, their physical beauty and talents speaks also for their inner beauty - being generous. Byung-hun has donate about 7 hundred million won (approximately $617, 700 USD) towards the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami victims. On the other hand, Kim Tae Hee engages herself to charity works such has helping out with cancer victims. I think if they will be real couples in real life, they could have help so many people with their active participation in charity works.

And now you all have the floor — tell us do you agree or disagree with round table?Which fictional idol couple is the perfect couple?
