miss A’s Jia told of a trying story when she went to rap for the group’s first-ever album. Known as the rapper in the group, she revealed, “While recording the rap part, there was a part that I couldn’t pronounce. I kept missing that part, and it gave me a lot of stress.”

Why was this giving her so much stress? Well, Jia is one of the Chinese members in the group and though she can hold a basic conversation in Korean, rapping is not easy. Add to that trying to rap to the beats and melody and it can definitely be stressful.

Jia said in addition, “Because I couldn’t rap, I cried at least for three times.” It also didn’t help when JYP asked her, “Why can’t you pronounce this?“, leading her to cry some more.

But that’s all in the past as Jia is now able to look back and laugh, even commenting, “I almost said ‘then, would you like to try rapping in Chinese?

You should’ve told him, Jia! I love your spunk! But yes, rapping is not easy in Korean, especially when it’s not your native language. And with all due respect, speaking Chinese isn’t easy either. 5 tones? Yeah, trying rapping in Chinese, JYP. You’ll have more respect for Jia!
