When Super Junior’s Heechul goes off to the Nonsan training camp, his fellow members will not be present at his enlistment as his behest.

Instead, the members will bid him farewell in their dorm before he leaves, which comes as a surprise because typically, the members of a group will be with their fellow member when he enlists (re: Super Junior and Kangin).

However, this was Heechul’s wish because he doesn’t want to make a big deal about this. He told them, “Don’t come out to greet me goodbye.” Since his accident in 2006 resulted in several metal rods in his body, Heechul will be enlisted as a public service personnel instead of being in the active military personnel.

There will be no press conference for his enlistment. In addition, he’ll have 4 weeks of training before serving as a public service personnel from home for a period of 23 months after. This means that he can still see his group members, but won’t be promoting or show up on variety shows or see fans much.

So, in the end, Heechul will be quite close to his buddies.
