Boy group B1A4 debuted earlier this year on April 21st with mini-album “Let’s Fly”, and now have released a 2nd mini titled, “It B1A4.” Just like before, there are 5 new tracks featured, along with the instrumental of the title track. What is the title track this time? “Beautiful Target.”
Listen to it again below:
First reaction: “Uhhhhhhhhhh….” Then I replayed the song a couple more times through. Sure enough, as I expected, it started to grow on me.
Very fun vibe to this song, as a Bana can expect from the boys, though it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I can totally see the style as being B1A4-ish though! The little bouncy techno-ness at the beginning was interesting, a good intro leading into a calm intro which then becomes more energetic as it delves deeper until it reaches the chorus. There wasn’t much of a punch or big wave at that point, which was a little bit of a letdown for me. It was harder for me to pick out the boys’ voices at times. The tune was really cute, with the rapping and singing leading to somewhat comical. Maybe that’s because I watched the music video too many times, oops. I felt Sandeul wasn’t able to shine to his fullest potential, or at least not as much as he did in O.K. Did Gongchan really scream at that one part like it shows in the mv? Baro, your rapping is too awesome.
Memorable lines: “Oh my beautiful target, you zoom zoom heart like a rocket” and “I like it like it like it.” Whenever someone says “I like it,” I’m going to start repeating that part in this song…
“Beautiful Target” is about a guy who has a girl on his mind: his beautiful target. And he’s crazily fallen in love with her. The girl apparently goes away from him too fast, before he can reach her, so he waits for her with a warm heart. He wants her to stop playing around with him and accept his love. He uses a little analogy about how he wants her to come into his heart dot com. The ID password is “your love.” That way, he can show her his heart that loves her like a love song. Cute meaning, and lots of repetitiveness in the lyrics to get stuck in your head!
I have fallen under the spell of this song, but it took me some time to get used to it. I actually prefer some of the other songs in this mini over this one, which is sad on my part. Well, that being said, I give this song a 4 out of 5. Good luck to B1A4 on their promotions for this comeback and
