As the summer season quickly comes to an end, it’s time to look forward to the new season and a plethora of comebacks in the KPOP music scene. Check out what will be the hottest and most anticipated fall comebacks to look out for! (Disclaimer: This will be of the confirmed comebacks, not rumored ones.)

12. Lee Hyori (Comeback Date: TBD)
One of the KPOP queens, Lee Hyori hasn’t released anything new since her “H Logic” album last year that received much fire and accusations of plagiarism thanks to her composer. The singer has been working on her album, but has kept careful watch to ensure that nothing goes astray this time around.

11. Son Dambi (Comeback Date: TBD)
Like Hyori, Son Dambi hasn’t been around for over a year after she sang “Queen”. She has been busy outside the KPOP scene, though, with Kiss and Cry. As she told HT magazine quite recently, she’s working on her album and expects to have a fall comeback. Who knows, maybe she’ll incorporate some figure skating skills for her new album.

10. IU (Comeback Date: Late September at the earliest, could be early October)
Another female soloist, IU received much love with her third mini-album, REAL, at the end of last year. Her song, “Good Day”, was a mega hit and propelled her to the echelons of the music charts. Thanks to this song, she became known as the nation’s “Little Sister”. She could come back with a cutesy song (which would fit her image) or a mature song (which would fit her strong vocals). Nonetheless, I’m expecting good things from her upcoming album!

9. Brown Eyed Girls (Comeback Date: October)
The Brown Eyed Girls originally were set to come back this summer, but because they wanted to surprise fans with a new sound, they went through many songs and trashed them because they didn’t like it. This album is said to contain a different sound than from what fans are used to hearing and because of this day, the foursome won’t be coming back until October. Only time will tell if they produce another hit song like “Sign” or “Abracadbra”.

8. SS501’s Kim Kyu Jong (Comeback Date: September 9)
The last of SS501 to make his solo debut appearance, Kim Kyu Jong has been finetuning his acting skills as he said that he would be focusing on those instead of singing. However, it seems his love for singing could not be overcome and he will make his solo debut on September 9. With his solo debut, we will have seen all members of SS501 on the music stage this year. The bar has been set ridiculously high, thanks to fellow member Kim Hyun Joong.

7. Wonder Girls (Comeback Date: November)
Originally slated to come back in September, JYP has pushed back the date of Wonder Girls’ comeback to November, perhaps so that the group would not go head-to-head with the likes of KARA and SNSD. Personally, I would’ve loved to see a battle between the 3 of the top girl groups as it would be interesting to see how each one would fare. Nonetheless, Wonder Girls haven’t been in Korea since “2 Different Tears”, so it’ll be intriguing to see what they come up with this time around.

6. 2AM (Comeback Date: TBD, maybe September)
2AM, otherwise known as KPOP’s ballad group, charmed hearts with their first full-length album, “Saint-O’Clock”, last year. However, that was the last time fans saw them perform as a group. Maknae Jinwoon made his solo rock debut and Changmin reprised his role in project group, Homme. At the time of Jinwoon’s rock debut, it was said that 2AM would be making an appearance later this year in September. Since then, there has been no news of their impending comeback, but as the saying goes, no news is good news, right?

5. SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong (Comeback Date: TBD)
When he posed for Hang Ten magazine, Kim Hyun Joong revealed that he was planning to release a second album (mini-album?) some time in the fall. Currently, he is in the midst of his Asia Tour to promote his debut mini-album, Break Down, where he went from cute flower boy to sexy man. It’ll be interesting to see what image he’ll project for his second album (mini-album?).

4. KARA (Comeback Date: September 5)
KARA will be promoting for the first time in Korea since their “Jumping” song last year and group crisis earlier this year that left fans reeling in shock and confusion as to whether the group would disband. Don’t worry, these girls are back together as a group in Korea and will be returning with their third album, “STEP”. The limited edition of the album was released on August 25th and the regular edition will be released on September 5th. They will go head-to-head with SNSD (a few weeks delayed, though).

3. SS501 (Comeback Date: TBD/December?)
To be quite honest, I was hesitant to put SS501 here in this list. After all, only DSP Media has confirmed that the group will be making a comeback in December, but no individual member has mentioned such a comeback. Don’t get me wrong, I would really love to see this group make a comeback, but without official confirmation from the member themselves, I don’t know if this will be true. I do hope it is, though! But keep in mind that DSP is no longer managing the group.

2. U-KISS (Comeback Date: September 4)
KISS-MEs, get ready! U-KISS will be back with their second full-length album on September 4th and if you haven’t already seen the MV teaser, you should go check it out! U-KISS amazed with ‘0330′ earlier this year and though they have been busy in Japan since ‘0330′, they’re happy to be back in Korea where they can see their lovely fans!

1. SNSD (Comeback Date: September)
As one music representative aptly put it, “All the attention will be on SNSD anyway, so it’s pointless to go head-to-head.” The girls have wrapped up a successful run of Japanese promotions and are back in Korea to dominate once more with their third album, which is their first album in nearly 2 years. We last saw them in October of last year with ‘Hoot’, so it’ll be interesting to see what direction they go this time around. With a more mature look in Japan, however, I wouldn’t be surprised if they continue in that direction.

As mentioned previously, these are the confirmed comebacks that are highly anticipated! Yes, you’re probably wondering where the other groups are, such as SHINee, B1A4, TRAX, Block B, Boyfriend, A-Pink, and so forth. Those groups haven’t confirmed or announced an official comeback, so we’ll just have to wait and see. But out of these 12 soloists and groups, which one are you looking forward to the most?
