After all those sexy teaser photos from the Infinite boys, a repackaged album and new music video were released! One of the three new songs, titled “Paradise,” is what we’ll be looking at in this review.

Here is the audio:

For a couple seconds at the beginning, I thought they were going to break out into JRock, or CN Blue style for some weird reason. The music then came in, and I totally dropped that outrageous thought. I love how there were rock-ish elements mixed in with pop and orchestra! I could feel the powerful energy behind the vocals. The high notes were impressive, though Sunjong and Sungyeol had what, two solo words each? You could clearly hear the high and low vocal contrast in the chorus though.

Even though the music was upbeat, by no means was this a happy song. In fact, it revolves around a… broken heart. Why am I not surprised. The guy doesn’t want to let the girl go, even if he looks shaky and dangerous, he wants to hold her in. He will only look at her, so he asks her to do him a favor by staying with him. He will treat her better, because he can’t let her go yet. Paradise exists for him only if the girl is there. There’s a catch though. The paradise locks her in against her will where she is unable to escape while being awake. They can both be together though. If she leaves, he has to fill that paradise with alcohol and time, hopeless. Therefore, he is going to hold her and look at her for a little longer until his heart cools off some. He knows he must love without her, but, at this moment, he still needs her. Um, these lyrics make Infinite sound like desperate over-posessive boyfriends!! What interesting lyrics. Would you want to live in that kind of “paradise?”

I give this song a 5 out of 5! It’s like “Before the Dawn” + “Be Mine” + a mysterious unique twist, sort of. Sorry if that didn’t make any sense. Very captivating and for me, made all the teasers and waiting worth it. Good luck to Infinite in promotions for this repackage album, and I hope it receives lots of love from not just loyal Inspirits, but new fans as well!
