On September 28th, SS501 member Kim Kyu Jong released his first mini-album, “Turn Me On“, making him the last member of the group to make a solo debut. The singer recently met up with Newsen for an interview and revealed his thoughts on his solo debut, his group, and also his hopes on a collaboration stage at one of the year-end events.
Kim Kyu Jong started out by saying that he originally never had any thoughts on releasing his own solo album until he saw the members releasing their albums one by one. He also revealed that he will always be waiting for the day when SS501 can release another album but explained that it was just to difficult given their current situation.
The star also confessed that the members, including Kim Hyun Joong, were bothered by the fact that many people only thought of the name ‘Kim Hyun Joong‘ when ‘SS501′ was brought up. He expressed his hopes that this will later change when people witness every members’ improvement and hard work through their solo careers. Another matter that had bothered Kim Kyu Jong was how everyone thought the members all had a bad relationship, which he revealed was far from the truth and that they are in fact all close friends.
Concluding his interview, Kim Kyu Jong expressed his excitement and wish for the members of SS501 to be able to join together for a grand stage and perform a medley of their respective solo debut tracks during an event at the end of the year.
Kim Kyu Jong will be actively promoting his title track “Yesterday”.
