Yep, you read right! TVXQ’s 5th Japanese album, “Tone” has sold more than 100,000 copies on its first day. 105,484 to be precise. This amazing result led the duo to climb up to the #1 spot on the daily Oricon charts. If you compare this result to their last album in 2009, “Secret Code“, this result has fully smashed the previous record of 83,000 copies.
It’s been 2 years since “Secret Code”, and “Tone” had took over the charts before even going on sale! On Recochoku, Japan’s largest music site, they predicted that TVXQ’s album would climb to the number one spot because TVXQ has had a unbroken record of having 6 songs climb up to the #1 spot.
In order to make the release of “Tone” even more epic, there were super size banners of TVXQ put up in Shinjuku. Each banner was 15 meters high and 9 meters wide. The banner attracted a lot of attention from the Japanese public because the banners had both the members’ signatures on it! [Aha! I know why they made it that big, so no one would steal it! If it wasn't that big I would seriously considering stealing it!] The area was lit up the red, blue and yellow lights to represent the red, blue and yellow versions of “Tone”.
Check out the huge banners! (Not too sure if you guys can see the signature but it’s actually across the middle of the banner, and kind of blends in with their clothes!)

Congratulations to TVXQ! I want to get my hands on the album as well!
