Princess Kako, the 17-year old granddaughter of Japanese emperor Akihito, has been making headlines in Japan after a photo of her dancing to K-pop was revealed.
A photo of Kako dancing to SNSD‘s “Oh!” has been published in Japan’s local newspapers. In the photo, Kako is seen displaying a confident expression on her face, and it was reported that she had perfectly executed the dance routine to SNSD’s song.
The photo is currently embroiled in a controversy in Japan. While some were relieved she was engaging in normal teenager activities, others criticized her choice of dancing to a song from a K-pop artist.
Kako is currently enrolled in the all-girls secondary academy, Gakushuin High School.
