On November 21st the actor will officially be discharged from the mandatory service all in Korea must serve. Lucky for his fans he will jump right back into the spotlight, seeing as he already has something lined up for himself. Be happy he has chosen a Musical with which to make a amazing comeback.“Doctor Zhivago” is Joo Ji Hoon’s comeback stage of choice. The musical also a 1965 American film is said to have become incredibly pricey considering the production price is $25 Billion Won($22 Million USD)

The Musical itself is an adaptation of Boris Pasternak’s novel. He happens to be a Nobel Prize winner so I say good choice for musical. The musical itself goes on to tell about Zhivagos life and how he had been affected when both the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Russian Civil War rolled around.Yuri Zhivago was a poet and a physician. The novel itself has been adapted many times and has most recently been made into a Russian Mini series. It is a very powerful novel that grapples with tough issues, many of which were the reasons why this novel had been rejected times before.

Lucky for Joo Ji Hoo he has some acting already under his belt, he played the Crown Prince in one of Korea’s most watched dramas “Goong“. Also in 2009 he played “Don Juan’s” title character as well as participating in “Voyage of Life“. This was while he was serving in the reserved corps. In 2010 The Ministry of Defense put on this production to commemorate the Korean War’s 60th anniversary. I can’t
wait to see him back in action. I believe this will be a delicate and challenging part to pull off. I would love to see the take he will spin in this musical.

On November 27th he will have a meeting with 2,000 of his fans in Seoul. This will be his first official public event as a civilian.
