After School’s Jooyeon will be excused from promotions for their new single, ‘Diva’ as she is hospitalized for having acute nephritis or also known as inflammation of the kidneys.

According to Pledis Entertainment, Jooyeon started experiencing pain while rehearsing for the ‘2011 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards‘. After a check-up in the hospital and finding out that she has acute nephritis, Jooyeon will be spending her days in the hospital and thus, she is refrained from participating in the awards.

Pledis Entertainment stated, “Jooyeon has temporarily stopped promotional activities and is getting treated at the hospital, as the doctor recommended. It’s an illness that can be cured quickly through a simple process of medication and rest, so please don’t worry too much.”

Avex, After School’s Japanese agency also had their say in this matter, stating, “Although After School is supposed to start Japanese promotions at the end of November, we think that the artist’s recovery is more important. So rather than immediate promotional activities, we have decided on rest… Jooyeon insisted on participating in the Japanese promotions, but she has been dissuaded from doing so.”

Hope to see Jooyeon on the stage again, healthy.
