KARA is currently promoting their latest Japanese single “Winter Magic”, but coming up their maknae, Jiyoung will be taking on the lead role in the upcoming drama, “Rainbow Rose”.

According to a DSP Media spokesperson, “Jiyoung was cast in the role of heroine for the drama, Rainbow Rose and has been shooting the drama in Korea.” The spokesperson continued, “She’s been filming since the beginning of November, but we only announced the official news now because at the time, the production staff [was] still in the midst of confirming the cast list.”

Rainbow Rose, is a joint production between Korea and Japan, and will begin airing in April of next year. With Jiyoung’s role in the drama, it is expected that the drama will see much success due to her popularity in Japan.
