The ‘2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards‘ (MAMA) was held at the Indoor Stadium in Singapore on November 29th. Girl group 2NE1 walked away with the grand prize, Song of the Year, as well as the award for Best Vocal Performance Group. After the award ceremony ended, 2NE1 showed their gratitude to their fans during an interview.

2NE1 began by saying, “We really had fun because of the fantastic performances, and winning the grand prize. We feel honored and we’ll never forget this.”

Leader CL stated, “We believe that music can brush away the language barrier. Although we don’t have a common language, we can communicate through the music we share together.”

In regards to her performance with international star Will.I.Am, CL said, “It was an incredible experience for me.”

During the interview, 2NE1 also revealed their future activities and said, “We are having a promotional tour at the moment for our new album in Japan. We will prepare a new tour for our next album next year.”

This year was a great one for 2NE1 as they released many songs that charted highly on music charts such as “Lonely,” “Ugly,” and “I Am the Best.”.
