SNSD definitely deserves the title ‘Artist of the Year‘ from 2011 MAMA. They have shown us the power of nine by taking the number 1 spot of being searched for the most on Yahoo Japan from January 1st to October 31st.

Other than SNSD, 17 other idol groups have taken spots from the top 20. Only two non-Korean artists were part of the top 20, Lady Gaga 5th and Avril Lavine 17th. KARA, TVXQ, and Jang Geun Suk took 2nd, 3rd and fourth respectively, while Big Bang, Super Junior, Kim Hyun Joong, FT Island, and 2PM were all on in the top 10.

Followed by 2PM, SHINee, CNBLUE, Supernova, JYJ, BEAST, 2NE1, After School, T-ara and Kim Tae Hee were ranked 11-20.

Congrats to SNSD for taking the number one spot and to the other groups who dominated the chart. Go KPOP!
