A broadcasting management representative has revealed that Kim Hyun Joong will be taking on the male lead role in TV Chosun‘s new K-drama ‘Speed‘.
On December 5th, a representative revealed through MyDaily, “His agency has agreed to Kim Hyun Joong taking on the new role, but the formal contracts have yet to be signed at this point in time.”
Kim Hyun Joong’s agency KeyEast Entertainment stated, “It is true that we received an offer and are optimistically looking through the script.”
‘Speed’ is a car-racing blockbuster drama written by Ma Jin Won along with Lee Dong Hwa and directed by Yang Yoon Ho. The drama is receiving interest as it will be a project worked on by director Yang Yun Ho, who has also directed ‘Wind Fighter‘, ‘Libera Me‘, and KBS 2TV‘s 2009 hit drama ‘IRIS‘.
Although he has been active as a singer in 2011, Kim Hyun Joong plans to focus on his acting career in the new coming year. There is a possibility that actor Lee Jung Jae and SNSD’s Sooyoung will be joining the cast of the drama as well.
’Speed’ will begin airing sometime in April of 2012.
