The ladies of SNSD have topped yet another chart by selling more albums than any other K-pop act in Japan.
Major Japanese record distributor Tower Records recently released their ’2011 K-POP album sales rankings’ chart, which showed that SNSD has outsold all other Korean artists in Japan with their debut Japanese album ‘Girls Generation‘. They were also the only artist to place on the chart twice, as their recently released album ‘The Boys‘ ranked at #4.
Following behind SNSD were labelmate Super Junior with their 5th Korean album, ‘Mr.Simple‘. In third place was KARA with ‘Girls Talk‘, while JYJ‘s ‘In Heaven‘ placed 5th.
The rankings were determined by the artists’ album sales from the beginning of the year to November 30th. The number of sales were not revealed, but a total of 37 genres of music were taken into account for the chart including K-POP, World POP music, Classical, Jazz, and more.
In other news, SNSD also placed 3rd on Yahoo! Japan‘s ’2011 Search Rank’ list, 1st for artist overseas and 2nd for overall female artist.
