Uploaded on the wide blogging spot of tumblr, one fan put his photoshopping skills to the test when he created a false CNN Ent report claiming that beloved member of Super Junior Kim Heechul had died “after a tank malfunctioned and ran him over.”

For a few hours the post went viral, and many fans broke down into tears at the report. However, after a some clever ELFs (although it didn’t take much to realize that the article was obviously fake) managed to decipher that the article was indeed a fake.

Noting that the post was all the way back to December 18th, while the photo was of an even more recent date, not to mention the poor writing skills, it was only obvious that the article was indeed a faux. A quick trip to CNN also proved the article to be illegitimate.

Who would be cruel enough to create a false report? A tumblr user who shall remain un-named due to protection rights. The user has announced their apology and explained the situation to an anonymous user who asked him a question. The article had meant to be a joke, but some ELFs were found to take it a little too seriously.

Although it was quite obvious that the article was a hoax, I don’t blame the ELFs from breaking down due the sheer love they have for this beloved member. Hopefully next time, however, we’ll really look into the facts before we start believing whatever we see.
