Donations from JYJ’s Junsu has helped build a new school in Cambodia.

On December 30th, C-JeS Entertainment revealed that the ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony for the new school took place in Pursat on December 28th. After five months of construction, the new school was built with six classroom, a bathroom, and a clean water supply system.

The ceremony saw the attendance of about 500 people, including students, parents, village officials and Junsu’s mom, Yoon Young Mi. Junsu was unable to make it to the ceremony himself due to conflicting schedules with his new musical “Elizabeth“.

However, the generous idol wrote a message saying, “I’d like to visit next time and sing and play soccer with the students.”

Junsu’s mom spoke during the opening ceremony and said, “I hope to name this school the ‘Xiah Junsu Evergreen School’ so that the students can preserve dreams as fresh and green as the trees and grow their own futures. I hope that everyone will grow up to become an important leader of our future.”

The money to build the school came from the Korea branch of ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), where Junsu has been consistently making donations since 2008.
