The entire ELF fandom held their breath as the countdown to the unveiling of the Golden Disk Daesang Award was slowly approaching. 2011 was a special year for Super Junior, as Leeteuk would be going into the army soon in 2012.

When it was announced that Super Junior won the Popularity Award, all their fans rejoiced. However, what really caught their attention was when Super Junior won MSN Japan Award, Best Selling Act and Disk Bonsang, not to mention Disk Daesang, as well. Their Mr. Simple album sold 479,329 copies! Their short but sweet acceptance speech rang true in the hearts of fans everywhere:

“We’ve been looking for happiness since November 6, 2005 and we thank the fans for giving us that happiness. When we debuted, no one expected us to succeed. We want thank super managers, Teacher Lee Soo Man and CEO Kim Young Min.”

Here’s the members’ reactions following the awards ceremony:

Sungmin updated his blog, saying, “4 gold awards ..ㅠㅠThank you~!! I’m really, really … so happy these days ~ These awards reward us with everyone together in the future. I will try much harder!”

Yesung tweeted (rough translation), “Golden Disk Daesang and four gold medals… ELF around the world gave us this; we are more than grateful and love you all!”

Donghae tweeted, “Super Junior’s target!!!!!! Best of ELF, love you!! 4 gold awards!!!”

and later on, “I’ll work harder ^^ Thank you!! I love you!! SUJU the best!! ELF the best!!”

Siwon tweeted, “always proud of you all. and always love you all. thank you for everything. cheers!”

and later on, “thank you all our E.L.F ! We love you forever and ever :)”

Heechul sent an ambiguous tweet that said, “Happy New Years~” and a selca of himself with spiked up hair, highly resembling his hair back during Sorry Sorry promotions.

While I joined the ELF fandom quite late, I still became very dedicated and did my best to support the guys. I bought all three versions of Mr. Simple, did multiple searches for them to win music shows, and voted for them countless times for award shows. I even stayed up extra late and extra early to catch up on GDA news, so you can definitely say that I was completely ecstatic when they won!
