Soloist IU will be joining other female idols in the KBS‘ New Year Special, Crown Princess Project - Restoring the Royal Family, to see who will become the ‘Crown Princess’.

This will be a comedic take of a historical drama, as back in the Joseon Dynasty, young women from respectable familes were chosen to compete against one another and to undergo various tests to see who would become the Crown Princess. This New Year Special draws inspiration from the past and will also be an idol version of popular mini-series, “The Sun and the Moon”.

IU will be competing against female idols such as T-ara’s Boram and Soyeon, miss A’s Min, 4minute’s Sohyun, A Pink’s Eunji and others for a total of 12 female idols participating.

Each idol is dressed up in a hanbok and although they laughed merrily on the set, only one can become the final Crown Princess. In addition, the Crown Prince’s identity is still a mystery and not even the cast members know who the Crown Prince is, heightening the anticipation. Find out on January 23rd1

Actually, this is probably one New Year special I’ll be watching. It sounds interesting!
