Ningin Round Table: What body part do you never tire seeing exposed from male idols?

The Ningin Round Table is a feature in which we pose an Asian entertainment news-related question to Ningin writers and they give us their colorful opinions and thoughts on the matter. It’s often news when X idol exposes X body parts. We recently asked our writers, “What body part do you never tire seeing exposed from male idols?” Here’s what some of them had to say:

Victoria Huynh: A clavicle, also known as the prestigious collarbone, is often hidden under a piece of cloth waiting to be exposed. And because it’s often rare for idols to purposely expose it, we can never get enough of it! In Beast’s Seasons Greetings set last year, there was an image of Doojoon pulling the collar of his shirt down to expose his collar bone for a reason: to make fans swoon. I personally think G-Dragon, Hyunseung, Jay Park, Yunho, and Jae Joong have some pretty nice collarbones. It may just be a bone right above the chest, but it’s irresistibly sexy. It’s a more elegant part of the body doesn’t over do it. It doesn’t need to stand out too much to attract attention. It’s natural, not something the idols had to work for. It’s a touch of perfection that we can never get tired of. When male idols wear v-necks and tank tops, people are bound to swoon over them clavicles!

Anabel Martinez: The body part that I never tire seeing exposed from male idols are their teeth. An open smile really shows positivity, confidence, and spreads happiness to other people. A male Idol may appear manly (Taecyeon), serious (T.O.P), or even a bit cold (JaeJoong), but once they reveal their smile their image can turn a full 360 degrees. I especially adore those smiles that have bunny teeth, for example Onew from SHINee and KiKwang from B2ST.

Emily Wu: It is quite interesting to think that while female idols bare quite a bit of skin, male idols are very much the opposite - they were always fully clothed in some regard. Despite knowing that, I never tire seeing male idols expose their legs. It’s not that I have a leg fetish (I don’t really), but compared to the female idols who show off their legs pretty much with every opportunity on stage (thanks to their company’s management), male idols are always seen with pants on, or sweats for that matter. Hardly do we get treated their legs - the most we see of their legs is when they wear skinny pants at their company’s behest, showing us just how slender their legs are. But when they do expose their legs, such as during the Idol Athletic Championship, this exposure always makes me laugh. Why? Because for the most part, these male idols’ legs are white. Pure milky white. As if their legs haven’t seen the sun. Every time, I smile and laugh. Although, I must point out that perhaps the reason why male idols don’t expose their legs that much is thanks to leg hair (or perhaps they waxed that area). But alas, guys hide their legs too often, so it’s more of a treat when they expose them. Don’t want to get too bored of too much leg exposure, right?

Pamela Sit: The body part that I’m never EVER tired of seeing exposed from male idols would be… DIMPLES!! It might be weird, but for me, first thing I notice when I meet someone is their mouth region. I personally love cute and happy things so I love to see genuine smiles, but the special thing about dimples are, they’re not always shown to you. You don’t know if someone has dimples until you see them smile and that just makes it so much more special. For male idols, a lot of them have this tough, manly image that they show to their fans (like T.O.P of Big Bang) but when they break out into a smile (or sometimes purse their lips) and those adorable dimples pop up in front of you, it gives them a chance to exchange their manly image to a cute one and makes them that much more desirable (and just to add, many fan girls would be yelling: BIAS WAE YOU SO CUTE?!?!). In K-Pop, there are many male idols with adorable dimples like, Super Junior’s Leeteuk and Siwon, JYJ’s Yoochun, and Super Junior-M’s Henry, and honestly their dimples have attracted many female fans. Personally though, my favourite male idol with dimples would have to be the Almighty Key of SHINee. It’s not just because I have an undying love towards him, but it’s also because when he smiles, and those captivating dimples get exposed, it just makes my heart skip a beat and ignite my fangirling! Nevertheless, dimples are the body part I choose that I will never get tired of seeing on male idols!

Winnie Mack: Eyes, an important factor of our life, whether they are male or female eyes, they’re hauntingly beautiful. As the eyes are exposed most of the time, looking at their eyes never seem to tire or bore me. The eyes glow with life, reflects emotions, give messages, connects people, yet still remains mysterious. The emotions it reflects, whether shinning in happiness, glaring in anger, tearing in pain, empty in sadness, captivates me. No matter the thousands of times, the eyes are seen, they still remain interesting and lovely.
