On February 2nd, SNSD held a fan meeting at the Best Buy located in NYC’s Union Square and proved their massive popularity by shutting down the entire store due to the influx of fans that showed up to meet them.

The event drew in about 1,300 fans and when the crowd got too large to control, the NYPD were called in for safety reasons, leading the store to be shut down.

SM Entertainment quoted a Best Buy official who said, “This is the first time we had to shut down the store for safety reasons since Lady Gaga“.

In other news, SNSD recently made their American TV debut through their performances on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ and ‘Live! With Kelly‘.
