Asian romantic songs are often really sad, for some reason. Well, I don’t really mind, as they can be really upbeat or ballad-like. It can go either way. Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, we want to hear sweet love songs, no? Whether if it is a confession, or talking about a great bond of love. I have come up with a list of 7 Romantic Asian Pop Songs for you to listen to during this lovey dovey time of celebration! No, not all of them come from dramas (though we all know dramas are absolutely filled with love songs).

Note: There are just so many awesome love songs out there that populate a grand amount of Asian songs to begin with. Sorry I can’t include all. I tried to be a little diverse in my choosing, and they are not in any particular order!

1. Ti Amo by Aaron Yan (Fahrenheit) and Jade Liu

Quite the beautiful and cute duet we have here. In fact, I have sung this song before, though as a solo for a Chinese New Year celebration. That’s how much I like this love song. It is about a couple who views each other as the utmost special and the air they breathe makes up their happiness. They want to be in love with each other everyday, even when dreaming. Not a single moment together is a waste. Aww, how cute.

2. No Other by Super Junior

Hearts are everywhere in the music, video! It has a catchy tune. You are the girl the SuJu members are professing their love for, the only girl for them. Yup, there is no other like a girl with a good heart that will make him the happiest guy on the planet while he tries his best to protect you. He is thankful for this beautiful gift, but is a little shy sometimes, but he still wants the girl to understand his feelings. Well, what are you waiting for? Go to them now!

3. We Fell In Love by Ga In and Jo Kwon

Another duet huhuhu, but the story line here is different. At first, the guy and girl think they are in love with each other. They’ve had their awkward moments, they’ve been apart from each other for some time. Now, both realize that there is something between them. Is it love? Yes, they finally know how they feel towards each other and start a new beginning. They have fallen in love.

4. It’s a First Love by IU and Na Yoon Kwon

This is probably my favorite love song duet out there thus far. When it first came out, I was spellbound by their vocals. First loves are not always so bubbly and hyped up. They can be filled with a innocent sweetness unlike any other. Holding hands when needing comfort, trusting each other. The cold feelings can be warmed up by the love they cherish. A first kiss like the delightful first snowfall, how romantic is that?

5. White Confession by Infinite

Yes, a winter confession is being made here! Imagine snow all around you, and the boy of your dreams appears and starts singing– oh wait. This was all in the past. Still, he wants to start over and give all his love to you again. Like the falling snow, he hopes that the relationship you two shared will come back as well. So, what do you say? Will you give him another chance?

6. Maybe by Sun Ye from “Dream High OST”

This is a song about a girl who started off with a cold heart, but then a guy comes and melts it, filling it instead. She finds herself thinking about him. So, maybe he is the one for her, she thinks, her other half. In conclusion, she knows that she is in love with him. This is romantic in the sense that many girls or even guys can be denying that they like someone when in all reality, they truly do care for them in that special way and cannot be in denial of their feelings any longer.

7. Every Heart by BoA (Japanese version)

This is not a very cheerful piece. The girl is expressing that she is lonely, shedding tears. There are dreams that can be pursued though, no matter how down one may feel. Whether if it is romantic love, or the love that can be shared with everyone. In a sense, this song can be one of encouragement for all those hearts feeling down out there due to different circumstances.

Bonus! Two of my favorite (even) sadder themed romance songs:

Doushite Kimi Wo Suki Ni Natte Shimattan Darou? by DBSK

Ever wonder why you fall in love with someone who only ends up with someone else other than you yourself? You had such high hopes to be with that person, but they are taken away. You can only stand at the side and watch as a friend, not able to do anything more. Such a sad event this is.

Oh! My Goddess by TRAX

A girl like a goddess that the guy cannot seem to grab hold of. He is obsessed with this girl, as she has stolen his heart. Now, all he can do is only look at her forever. Will the girl accept his heart and feelings? Hmm, it’s like that really good-looking or beautiful person that you can never seem to reach because you feel as though your status’s and circumstances are too far apart. Maybe though, maybe something could happen.

Well, that’s all for the romantic songs list! I did not include all, by all means. That would take forever, since there are so many gorgeous pieces out there, both sad and happy ones. If you have one you particularly favor, please voice it out in the comments below!
