Ningin Round Table: Which female idol would make a great match with Daniel Radcliffe?

The Ningin Round Table is a feature in which we pose an Asian entertainment news-related question to Ningin writers and they give us their colorful opinions and thoughts on the matter. Earlier this month, Daniel Radcliffe showed interest in SNSD. That got us thinking: “Which female idol would make a great match with Daniel Radcliffe?” Here’s what some of our writers had to say:

Allison Goudey: I think Daniel would be a cute couple with Girl’s Generation Taeyeon. They both are very successful people and I think they would make a cute couple. She’s the leader of Girl’s Generation so I think she’s very responsible and well mannered girl. They also are both the same age so I think they would get along well. I also heard Daniel say he liked Girl’s Generation so maybe things would work out well!

Jennifer Shu: When it comes to English-speaking, the first girl that pops into my mind is definitely Tiffany from SNSD, and I think that she would definitely make a great match with Daniel Radcliffe. Growing up in the U.S. when she was young, Tiffany has developed a unique and more western personality that makes her “brighter than jewels”, and stand out from a lot of other great female idols. She speaks her mind out with a great sense of humor, which I think will be able to communicate with Daniel well, not only because of their common language, but also because of how open Fany is when it comes to her thoughts. From what I’ve seen about Daniel, he is cute and shy when it comes to girlfriends, and Tiffany’s cheerfulness is just at the right level to complement that, for she never hides her feelings all to herself, and always shows her true side to everyone she is exposed to. Also, Tiffany is a super gorgeous girl that Daniel finds amazingly attractive and beautiful, with her heart-warming eye-smile matching perfectly with Daniel’s adorable trademark smile. Tiffany isn’t just beautiful on the outside, but her truthfulness towards people is what really attracts attention, and something that makes people really love her. With their whole range of similarities and differences that complement each another, I believe that Tiffany Hwang and Daniel Radcliffe would make a beautiful couple, as if a fairy tale came true.

Susie Chong: Having played an extremely famous boy wizard as well as acting in a number of much talked about movies, it would take a magical girl to impress Daniel Radcliffe. With her pixie-like charms, f(x)’s Luna would be just the lady to do the job. Luna has a powerful voice, a charismatic personality and a bright smile which would match with Radcliffe’s cheeky grin any day. The main vocalist of f(x) has a set of other talents, having also acted herself and has also played roles within musical theater, as well having to keep up with the trick dancing routines of her girl group. The petite K-idol would also be an ideal match height-wise with the Harry Potter actor, who is not really one of the tallest actors out there. Luna could be the perfect girl to enchant Radcliffe!

Felicia Phan: My choice for Daniel Radcliffe’s KPOP-idol-female-companion is Taeyeon from SNSD. In a recent interview with the Harry Potter star, Radcliffe spoke about South Korea’s top girl group. Although Taeyeon came in second to a fellow group member in terms of beauty, I still believe that Taeyeon is quite suitable for the 22-year-old actor. While the KPOP idol likes an upbeat and funny guy, like Radcliffe, she also has some admirable attributes and common interests as the actor. Daniel has often ran into issues like his height when it comes to finding a lady, and Taeyeon is not the tallest girl in KPOP (at all), so the little couple could look very adorable. Radcliffe also does not like a girl who is only interested in him for his status, and although their industries are countries away, surely they can still relate to one another. These two also share a common interest in music which, as soon as they break the language boundaries, can bring great discussion. All in all, I think these two cute people can be pretty adorable together.

Cara Ribiero: This is my response: He may have been super shy and awkward as Harry Potter, but Daniel Radcliffe has grown up to become a man that is ready for love, and I believe that Secret’s Sunhwa would be the ideal girl to match up with his unique personality. She may not be the best English speaker, but with her charming personality, Daniel would be happy to teach her. Also, it’s no secret (no pun intended) that Daniel is a brainy person and Sunhwa is often referred to as ‘White Paper’ due to her so-called empty head. However, it’s these differences that will make this pair the perfect match. Daniel has said that he can’t find the right girl because most of them want him for his fame, but from what we’ve seen of Sunhwa, she probably has no idea who he is. She’s funny, cute and talented: who wouldn’t love this girl? Plus, I’m pretty sure that the wizard inside Daniel would really appreciate that one of Sunhwa’s hit songs was called “Magic”.

Lisa Nguyen: Daniel Radcliffe is a bit picky when it comes to girls but I believe that Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha would be a great match for him. Radcliffe once said in an interview that she prefers girls with curves. Don’t let Narsha’s age fool you because she actually has a nice, curvy figure for a woman of her age which gives the physical factor a tick. When it comes to the mental factor, I believe that Radcliffe is a dork and enjoys good laughs and being paired up with an ultra dork like Narsha, the laughs could go on for days. Narsha once revealed that a man “showed her a whole new world and gave her something no one else could”, Daneil Radcliffe could do the same and bring Narsha to England, not exactly a whole new world but being a curious woman like Narsha, she will definitely enjoy the experience. Or Radcliffe could take Narsha to Hogwarts via Platform 9-3/4 - I am sure not everyone would have an experience like that!
