The Complete Glossary of KPOP Body Terms

KPOP caters for everyone: veteran fans to rookie fans. Joining the “KPOP Clan” is exciting, but it can also be quite overwhelming if you have no idea what some terms mean. Honey thighs? Chocolate abs? Are they edible? If you’re still asking yourself questions similar to this, then stick around and get KPOP-ified.

Please note: Examples included for each term are minimal and do not include every single idol that applies.

11 Abs
Ever seen abs that have such defined lines that they almost resemble the number 11? These types of abs are usually found on females, as most males prefer going for chocolate abs (see below).
Girls with 11 abs: f(x)’s Krystal, After School’s Kahi and Dal Shabet’s Ga Eun

Bagel
This term is given to both males and females that have baby faces and amazing bodies. For girls, bagel is made up of the words baby face + glamorous body, and for guys, bagel is made up of the words baby face + gladiator body.
Bagel girls: Secret’s Hyosung and 4minute’s Jihyun
Bagel boys: Big Bang’s Daesung and 2AM’s Jinwoon

Chocolate Abs
Chocolate abs are probably the easiest to imagine. A slab of chocolate has clearly defined lines between each block, and the abs named after it look exactly the same. Don’t stare, now!
Guys with chocolate abs: Jay Park, MBLAQ’s Joon and Super Junior’s Siwon

Derp
The term derp is used to describe a person’s facial expression that just cannot be explained. It may not be a specific KPOP term, but it is used enough to be a must-know. Want to see a perfect derp face? Just click on pause every now and again while watching a B.A.P performance!
Derp-sters: Kara’s Hara, B.A.P’s Himchan and SNSD’s Jessica

Eye Smile
This one is very popular facial characteristic that not many can master. It describes the crescent shape of the eyes when someone smiles, which usually adds cuteness or “aegyo.”
Girls with eye smiles: SNSD’s Tiffany and f(x)’s Sulli
Guys with eyes smiles: Big Bang’s Taeyang and 2PM’s Nichkhun

Honey Thighs
Honey thighs are not sticky, but they most certainly are sweet. This term is giving to very few idols as you need thighs that are perfect (not too thin and not too big) to attain this title.
Owners of honey thighs: After School’s UEE and 2NE1’s Park Bom

S-Line
Ahh, the ever popular s-line. We all know what the letter “s” looks like - curvy. This is exactly what the term is used to describe, a curvy woman. Well, curvy in KPOP standards. It almost resembles an hourglass: larger around the chest and buttocks than at the waist.
S-Liners: 4minute’s Hyuna, miss A’s Min and Secret’s Zinger

Ulzzang
Just looking at the picture above should give you a hint. This term is given to people with the “best face.” It is someone that is known for being extra beautiful or handsome, almost to the point where they look like dolls.
Ulzzangs: U-Kiss’ Kiseop, T-ara’s Qri and Block B’s Jaeho

V-Line
This refers to the face, not the body. It is known that Koreans strive to have small faces, but they also strive for that perfect V face. In other words, an oval face that gets narrow towards the chin. However, it shouldn’t be too sharp at the chin either. Sigh.
V-Liners: G.NA, JYJ’s Jaejoong and Raibow’s Jaekyung

X-Line
This can easily be confused with an S-line, as it also refers to a curvy woman figure. However, the difference in this case is that the lady has a large chest and buttocks, but is skinny everywhere else. This may sound unusual, but it is quite popular and sought after.
X-Liners: f(x)’s Sulli, SNSD’s Yoona and G.NA
